« The Desert Club » est l’histoire d’un photographe qui traverse le désert et qui est incapable, dans une certaine circonstance, de traduire en images ce que la situation provoque en lui. Il repart dans le désert et tente de montrer, dans un dispositif à cheval entre la fiction et le documentaire, que la mise en images de ce sentiment émanant du désert est autant authentique, qu’artificiel ; autant réel que mis en scène et autant partageable en surface qu’impossible à communiquer dans le fond.
Nous sommes alors devant un récit aussi réel que fantasmé où le langage propre des images nous montre que le désert est autant un spectacle qu’une expérience existentielle.

“The Desert Club” tells the story of a photographer who crosses the desert and, in a certain circumstance, is unable to capture in images what the situation evokes within him. He returns to the desert and attempts to show, in a format that straddles the line between fiction and documentary, that the portrayal of this feeling emanating from the desert is as much authentic as it is artificial; as real as it is staged, and as shareable on the surface as it is impossible to communicate in depth.
We are then faced with a narrative that is as real as it is imagined, where the unique language of images reveals that the desert is as much a spectacle as it is an existential experience.
